China is a resourceful country of coal, and mining takes an important proportion of our country economy. However, the safety accidents of mine often occur and limit the improvement of productivity. How to construct the productive, efficient and up-to-date mine, becomes the ultimate way to change the undeveloped actuality. The existing mine safety supervise and control system which only watch part of devices and sensors in mine, is installed in isolated department, and come into being lots of"Information Islands",which is not in favor of constructing a uniform control center to conduct the safety production of mine, and forming a integrated information platform to make the interrelated department scan the information of mine easily.This paper is focused on the implementation of wireless sensor network node, and chieving the communication capability between the nodes. We choose the CC2420, a IEEE 802.15.4 compliant chip provided by Chipcon corporations RF transceiver, and it need a MCU and few external components to constitute a wireless communication system. Microcontroller is RISC structure based 8 bit controller ATmega128 from ATMEL corporation . According to the characteristics of wireless sensor network nodes made an important indicator of system design, and in accordance with the structure of these indicators for system design and hardware selection; expounded on the various network nodes module hardware design, and discussed in detail based on the CC2420 and communications ATmega128 Circuit Design and TinyOS embedded operating system software as a platform for system design.Based on the above study and implementation of this paper, ATmega128 and CC2420-based network node hardware system to meet modern needs of distributed monitoring system, similar to the future of the system design, development and the achievement of a certain degree of guiding significance and value .
