With the rapid development of science and technology in the information area, how to provide powerful computing resources, such as super-computing capacity, massive data storage capacity, network communication capacity etc, has became a hot issue to computer industry. The appearance of GRID technology makes the solution of this problem possible. GRID is not a new word for Internet, neither is it mean to abandon or replace Internet. It is based on the Internet with higher quality and stronger function and wider user.GRID mainly concentrates in high-performance science and engineering calculation fields in the early years. But with the rapid development of GRID study, the application of GRID is expanding constantly. GRID technology which is suitable for different applications has appeared. Now, how to utilize GRID technology appropriately to analyze and identify the network traffic has become a hot issue in computer industry, and this is the purpose which the subject hopes to achieve.The author of this paper is on the basis of studying the relevant technology of GRID and P2P network traffic analysis and under the research backgrounds of "Traffic Analysis Platform Based on GRID Technology" project. Through the analysis and research on grid technology and architecture-OGSA, this paper not only details the development flow and the invoked procedure of grid service, but also implements a grid system for the analysis of P2P network traffic. The author has done some concrete jobs in the following respects:(1) Expound the basic concepts of GRID and GRID Computing. Explain the background of GRID emergence. And introduce the domestic and international current research and development situation of GRID.(2) Analyze the universal grid architecture: the Five Sand Filter Structure and the Open Grid Service Architecture (OGSA).(3) Compare the existing identification technology of P2P network traffic and network traffic analysis tools. Point out their advantages and disadvantages, and propose the identification technology of P2P network traffic utilizing GRID technology.(4) Introduce the support platform of system -- Globus toolkits briefly, and expound the development flow and the invoked procedure of grid service in detail.(5) Implement the grid system for the analysis of P2P network traffic.At last, the paper summarizes the method of developing GRID system based on Globus and points out the further work in future.
