Entertainment is human's basic need in the process of becoming a real human. Entertainment could relax human being's body and mind, and fit human's inherent need of spirit delighted. With the expanding of mass media, entertainment has been using as the most important way for mass media to gain profit. Entertainment was dissimilated, lost original nature and turned to "Excessive Entertainment". In this paper "Excessive Entertainment" means the dissimilation of entertainment. With natural advantage, TV becomes the best medium of the "Excessive Entertainment".The first chapter elaborates the current situation of "Excessive Entertainment", which involves the concrete appearance. The second chapter analyses the four causes of the "Excessive Entertainment" of Chinese TV: entertainment economy, mass culture, popular need of entertainment and market-oriented of Chinese TV.The third chapter makes cultural and aesthetic criticism to the negative influences of the "Excessive Entertainment" such as the non-rational tendency of people's idea influenced by the "Excessive Entertainment", and despising TV's function of keeping culture inheritance. And then, "Excessive Entertainment" hinders the chasing of various aesthetic needs, weaken aesthetic ability of people. In a word, Chinese TV lost the measure of value. In the last chapter, we try to find an aesthetic way to return and suggest putting the key of entertainment in aestheticism. Chinese TV should rebuild the new view about media and entertainment, and carry out the aesthetic education of media.
