Resource and electrical power problems are frequently focused on nowadays. The protecting and monitoring system of combined switch designed in this project is a necessary device in coal mining industry. So, the raise of this project makes a lot of sense.In this paper, the concept of combined switch is introduced. After the introduction of the development of micro-computer relay protection, the current and future research situations of combined switch are analyzed. Then, the protecting algorithms of motor protection are fully discussed, the Fourier Algorithm is improved in theory, and the new overload protecting model of motor protection is also raised. And then, the concepts of Agent and multi-agent technology are introduced. According to the distribution of combined switch, a type of new MAS architecture is constructed. A monitoring and protecting solution of combined switch system based on multi-agent is proposed, the matrix algorithm is introduce to the identification and reconstruction of the system. Then, the hardware and software solution of the monitoring and protecting system is introduced. In this design, the multi-CPU hardware architecture is adoped. As to the software, theμC/OS-II RTOS is introduced to the software system, and implements the functions of system by cooperating with the front-back platform software system.The results of system tests proved the correctness and feasibility of this system design. For the advanced micro-computer control principle and improved protecting algorithms are applied, the reliability of the protecting function and the general-utility of the system software are greatly improved.
