The Design And Implementation Of A Database Aging Testing Tool

Current database performance testing tools do not concern the performance fluctuation due to database inner records increment. To overcome this shortage, this dissertation explores a method of aging testing database which can measure the degree of the performance impact caused by database inner records increment.First, the dissertation introduces the fundamental concepts of database performance testing, current database testing standard and testing tools. Second, the dissertation brings up overall design and the organizational structure of the database aging testing tool, as well as the main modules function of it. Third, the design and implementation of aging function are elaborated, the generator of aging data based on the target of aging operation is discussed, and the simulation of aging curve is also discussed. Fourth, the dissertation describes the implementation of test function in detail, explains all the modules including control module, test module, agent module and terminal simulate module. At last, the usage of aging testing tool is illustrated by the procedure of aging testing TPC-C standard database and a personal record database.Database aging testing presented in this dissertation, is an extension to current database system testing method. The test result of aging testing tool will brings some reference value to the design of database application system.
