Ye Zhishan is not only a famous writer of children's literature and popular science of China, but also an excellent editor and publisher. He devoted himself to editorial work all of his life with an indifferent attitude towards fame or wealth, editing a large number of outstanding articles and books for children. Based on the detailed historical research, the thesis used the theories of editing, communication, psychology and culture to discuss and narrate, through the research of his editorial practices, the thesis discussed the features of his editorial thoughts of children's books and the practical significance for today's editorial and publication work.The thesis first explored the source of Ye Zhishan's ideological formation. On one hand, the ideological and practical activities of Ye Shengtao had a great impact on Ye Zhishan. Many of his editorial thoughts are the continuation and evolution of his father's; on the other hand, the Kai Ming bookstore, which he worked in his early years, is a quite unique private bookstore in the modern history of China. The purpose, pursuit and thoughts and activities of the predecessors also had a certain impact on him.The second chapter sums up two characteristics of Ye Zhishan's thoughts on the base of study of his editorial practices. The first is the idea that books should be responsible for education. From selecting to editing, editors should take it as a standard whether it plays a positive role to children's physical and mental health. The second is that editors should be involved in the creation. By learning creation, editors can improve their quality and promote the work of editing. Ye Zhishan's editorial thoughts embodied the strong sense of social responsibility and the subject consciousness as an excellent editor publisher.Finally, the thesis discusses Ye Zhishan's editorial thoughts have some inspiration to today's editing and publishing industry. From the point of view of editing and publishing work, the idea of children's book should be responsible for education and editors should be involved in the creation are of great guiding significance; From the point of view of cultural heritage, Ye Zhishan's editorial thoughts are showing a cultural choice and optimization of cultural significance.
