The Design Of Fault Recorder Based On Embedded System

The electric power system has got a great development which makes the fault recorder to have more functions, as well as a better performance and stability. The traditional microcomputer-based recorder has problems on its hardware scheme, cost and reliability. This paper presents a design scheme for the fault recorder which takes ARM and DSP as system hardware, and takes LINUX as system software. That comes out a simplified structure of software and hardware.DSP is used for high-speed data operation, dealing with various analog inputs and switching signals. The ARM processor is used for control center which has Linux operating system. It sends the result from DSP to the customer interference. The ARM processor acts for the backstage PC to undertake multitasking management,communication and GUI task. In order to realize unified management of hardware resources, such as memory, LCD equipment, keyboard, embedded LINUX is used as the operating system to provide a variety of interface resources for the upper-application of fault recorder. HPI technique is studied in detail, which carried out the control and high-speed data communication between ARM and DSP. This make the speed of the data exchange between DSP and ARM fast and efficient. A variety of communication ways between fault recorder and management sectors of power system are discussed. The Web server communication way is designed so that the dispatch center can manage fault recorder data on the web page. To eliminate the influence of different time scale in different departments, the GPS system is used for more precise timing. To sum up, the hardware and software scheme of the fault recorder in this thesis is more reasonable. The system has good stability and reliability. The fault recorder based on embedded system is a very streamlined and powerful solution.
