In the current world, the information develops drastically. The influence of the national image has spread to every aspect of the human society. Self-evidently, the influence of the national image is so great that it ranges from the politics to economy, from the military affairs to diplomacy, even the acceptance and recognition of a kind of culture. The national image is not only the flag of a nation's diplomacy but also plays a key part in absorbing foreign investment, extending foreign trade and developing the tourism. In certain sense, the national image in this new century serves as the new dynamic of enhancing a nation's international competing power and is a new element to influence and construct the international relations.However, with the entry to the new century, as China's economy further develops deeply and the comprehensive national strength increases gradually, what image will China demonstrate in front of the world? This question is increasingly concerned by the world people. At the same time, those arguments that impair China's national image like the reports that demonizes China, the idea that China will form a threat and China is collapsing are clamoring for a time in Western media, which makes progressing China encounters the unprecedented resistance in developing international relations and promoting foreign trade. Therefore, it is currently critical to make good use of China's media to construct a fine national image in the global village of the new century.This thesis analyzes the problems existed in media's constructing China's national image from the levels of consciousness, institution, substance, skill, etc. and sums up the internal problems and"foreign resistance"in the domestic media's constructing our nation's image. On the other hand, combining some cases, this thesis advances the media's strategy in improving and enhancing the construction of China's national image ranging from scientific orientation of China's national image in current phase to expanding the channels of raising fund, from changing ideas and enhancing understanding to reorganizing media and research application, from enriching the skills of the media constructing the national image to perfect the system of constructing national image in the new era.
