CATV primary network is based on HFC(Hybrid Fiber-Coax) Currently. To improve service abilities and make full use of existing large-sized HFC basic network to expand two-way transmission business, such as broadband, digital television, video-on-demand and so on. This article has studied based on the EPON+EoC cable TV network bidirectional transformation technology plan, the main content including access the net optical transmission transformation technology and the user access the transformation technology. This plan uses the EPON network architecture to connect corridor of a building unit from the sub-head end of the broadcast TV network,"the last 100 meters"from corridor to each home, yet, uses the WLAN over Cable is, I think, a best program that has a large capacity, and is low cost and is easy to build.This paper focuses on introduction to WLAN over Cable access system of its composition and realization technology theory, as well as the design and developing course of both hardware and software for the sub-head end and terminal, with detailed descriptions. In the hardware selection and the design, used SamSung Corporation ARM9 series S3C2410 to coordinate a series of periphery electric circuit, the union mixing technology(mixer circuit to use ADF4360-4 frequency synthesizer and the HMC422 bidirectional mixer) realizes WLAN over Cable to access systematic the sub-head end and the terminal function. In the software design, has realized to the frequency synthesizer output frequency control, through proxy software and the administrative center correspondence, realized the administrative center to access system the sub-head end and the terminal management.The whole WLAN over Cable system is designed and developed by Weifang Lesheng Electronic Co., Ltd.(in Shandong Province) and has already been test run in some experimental communities.
