With the rapid development of economics and the continuous increasing of our life's level, the development of the intelligent building is faster and faster. The problem follows it is that, how to increase the transportation capacity and the service qualities of the elevators that are in the buildings, is becoming more and more seriously. Several elevators are installed in a building in order to improve the transportation capacity, the service qualities and the working efficiency. How to improve the transportation capacity, the service qualities and the working efficiency are becoming more and more attentive to the people.So, a new concept—EGCS (Elevator Group Control System) is born. Because of the random city of the transportation and many characters of the elevator group control system, such as the uncertainty, many-targets, the disarrangement, the no linearity and short of maturity in information, it is very difficult for us to establish an accurate model of controlled object and we cannot solve these problems with traditional techniques, so it is required to use the intelligent control techniques. Fuzzy control technique, as one of the intelligent control techniques, has great advantages in resolving the no linearity, indetermination problems and so on. It does not need to establish an accurate model for the problem to be solved, but biased former knowledge to analyze, ratiocinate and calculate, and to form the last results. So we can use the Fuzzy control technique to solve the problems, which are in the EGCS, every well.The paper introduced the elevator and the kinds, the development condition of the EGCS, the aim and the meanings of the paper briefly; introduced the fuzzy control technique particularly, include the development conditions and the principle of the fuzzy control technique; analyzed the elements and the characters of the transportation of the intelligent district, the paper also analyzed the necessity of applying the fuzzy control technique to the elevator group control system, built up a more reasonable new evaluation function, the weight average of the most important three evaluation targets, including the low average waiting time, the low riding-power consume, the low average riding time act as the evaluation function, biased different transportation models to adjust the coefficients, to reach the best control; in the end, the paper introduced the hardware and the software elements of the system briefly, and used the T language to compile the whole program of the EGCS, and use the configuration software to realize the monitor and the control of the whole system. The results proved that, compared to the traditional centralizing-select control system, the fuzzy elevator group control system shows evident decrease on the average waiting time, the riding-power consume and the average riding time, it shows great superior and feasibility for fuzzy elevator group control system.
