The Research On Requirements Engineering Management Based On Information Characteristic

With the differences of knowledge background and circumstances, there are many expects and descriptions for the one subject in software requirements. This is the important reason for the requirements communication and the requirements management difficulty. The management of RE has the vital significance to enhance the software project successful rate and avoids being defeated.RE is an activity to accomplish a specific one-time effort during a period. RE can be managed with the Project Management. The RE activity from the beginning to the end sets up the RE lifecycle.According to the knowledge structure, the information is the foundation of the intelligence, the knowledge and the wisdom. The information is the closest to reality and involves the least professional knowledge, and it is the most comprehensible. To exchange idea by the information, the stakeholders can understand the requirements with less professional knowledge and easy to eliminate illusion caused by differences of knowledge background and circumstances.According to the information communication process,this paper divides the RE lifecycle into four phases with the requirements startup, the requirements elicitation, the requirements establishment and the requirements validation depend on the theory of the Chinese project management knowledge system (based on project lifecycle frame). With the four phases, the project manager would more easily manage RE and it's risk.According to The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMI) and the effective practical experiences in RE, this paper discusses the managements involve in the RE four phases, RE risk and requirements change base on the information characteristic.In startup phase, it recommends RE that making requirements range according to enhance the efficiency, the productivity, the core competitive ability and the business developmental strategy by understanding the information of requirements circumstance. It would be helpful for suppressing noise disturbance in communication. In the requirements elicitation phase, it recommends we should sincerely respect user's requirements, acquaint with their mathematical model. By classifying the requirements, we can count the amount of information of requirement and make the work plan depend on the amount of information of requirement. While communication with user, we should be explicit in information source, inspire user to make requirements with the successful case and model, to defined requirements with the decision-making tree model. While draw up the requirement specification, the description of the data and function should highlight the information flow. In the requirement validation phase, it emphasizes the explicit relations between to the primary information and the processing information logically and reasonably, rejects to the information asynchronous operation, maintains the information conformability and integrityThis paper considers RE should not focus on specifying the functionality of a new system, but instead should concentrate on the system characteristics of information. The paper has provided one kind of new mentality for the requirement project management, has made the beneficial exploration for the promotion requirement project management level.Finally, the paper specifies the process of RE management based on information characteristic by a case,and has analyzes its application effect briefly.
