Requirements Engineering In Small And Medium-sized Manufacturing Enterprises Erp Project Implementation

The Application of ERP has been an important measure of management of modern business enterprise using the means of information. On successful implementation of ERP, a corporation can improve its capability of competition greatly. And with entering WTO, the application of ERP project has been a urgent to many Medium-sized and Small-sized Manufacturing.But there is always an obstacle we cannot circumvent, the probability of success ERP is very low, especially in those Medium-sized and Small-sized Manufacturing. There are many reasons for the failure in those ERP project, but the most significant one is low-grade requirement analysis. About 80% failures are due to the ambiguous requirements.Application of ERP successfully is a very complicated system engineering, one of the important factors in ERP project is acquiring the effective requirements from clients. Software requirements analysis includes some key feature, the analytical method we take to acquire the requirements of users, the appropriate software we developed for users and the result whether the software can help the users to solve their problems.Firstly, this paper discusses some popular methods which are commonly used in the stage of acquiring the client's requirements on ERP project of middle-small manufacturing industry. With comparing their advantages and shortcomings, we choose an effective technology of requirements analysis method— Requirements Engineering.Then, this paper discussed the Requirements Engineering thoroughly, including requirements development and requirements management. The requirements engineering is a subject of defining all external characteristics of object system, it processes the requirements analysis of the users taking the effective method that has been testified, and it can confirm the customers' requirements. Based on the five-phase work of the requirements engineering, some nonobjective description and the life cycle of the software, the requirements engineering model is established. At the same time the practical work-flows are also explained in detail.At last, the requirements engineering model as an effective analysis means is testified in a real ERP project.
