OTDR is the device to maintain and testing optical fiber. Generally, it can be divided into three parts: laser emission and receiving system, DSP system and control system. Among them, control system is the core of OTDR. Under the control of it, other parts of OTDR work cooperatively. Along with the increasing demands for the performance of OTDR, the performance of control system is also increasing. It is becoming more and more important to use high performance embedded processor and embedded operation system in control system of OTDR.The control system of OTDR, we build in this project, is based on ARM9 processor. As the higher demand for user interface, touch screen and TFT LCD is contained in this system. To resolve the failure caused by Lithium-Ion/Lithium-Polymer, cell equalization method is added to power supply system. On the basis of it, power on/off circuit, power system and Lithium-Ion management system constitute a complete function of the power management system. After testing, the OTDR control system is work well. In particular, the power management enhanced the stability of system obviously. After continuous power on and power off 500 times, the system operates normally. The biggest difference between the voltages of single battery in cell stack is about 1.5%.The OTDR control system built in this project is passed evaluation and will be applied to products.
