With the increasing of the speed of train, high reliability of the rail contact line system is required. The contact line of electric railway is settled in the open air, and is supplied for the engine directly. It is in the poor working condition such as the action of salt, humidity, dust, ice, wind, frost, snow and other loads. Since the contact line has begun to work, it must be responsible for the heavy-laden transit task solely, and there are always some accidents. Because of the low reliability of poor contact line, it becomes one of the important reasons that restrained the development of electric railway in our country. So we need have a special research on the reliability of contact line system of the electric railway.In this thesis, a mechanical method is used to calculate the work loads under various conditions of the middle shoring in the contact line. The 3D model of parts & components is set up by ProE, and the precise stress is obtained using the ANSYS software. Parts & components reliability is analyzed according to the theory of stress-intensity distribution interfere. Then, visual basic is chosen to be a platform for coding. Using the expedite communicate function between VB and ACCESS, and file operation of the FSO technique, the mixed code technique between VB and ANSYS, between VB and MATLAB, the reliability calculating method is studied through 3D model, FEM analysis and MATLAB calculating by computer. Finally, the software for calculating the contact line system' s reliability is designed and handed over to the customer, owning the function of 3D model dynamic examination, input the parameter intetactively, output the result in many ways.
