Research On Software Reliability Estimation Based On Software Testing

This thesis aims at the problem that the declined software reliability has seriously affected the software quality due to the insufficient management of the software fault data during the software development. Breaking the traditional model, we bring the software reliability estimation and testing to the different periods of the software development. Today, in China, CMM is more popular than ever. People pay more attention to SPI when they aware how useful it is~[1] With the increase of system size, complexity and dispensability, how can the software functions satisfy the users' needs? How to remain the quality of the software? All facts proved that the software reliability is the key item, How to analyse the reliability of the fault data gathered during the period of software development? How to make the software reliability evaluation more accurate? How to get more project management information? The exited reliability estimation tools can't meed the needs in such fields as development technology, applying environment, and practical degree. How to solve the series above problems is illustrated in this thesis.The main study contents and features in this thesis:(1) to analyse the present situation and main contents of current researching about the software reliability engineering.(2) to research the related reliability concept and model theoretically.(3) to set up an estimation study of reliability based on the testing according to failure data produced from the testing of the software reliability.(4) to analyse the features of all the exited software reliability estimation tools.(5) to full illustrate the process of the software reliability based on the testing.(6) to combine the theory research with the practical project development.
