Research And Design Of Supplier Chain Management Information System For Apparel Industry

Nowadays Supplier Chain Management (SCM) is a popularized management strategy in enterprises. In order to execute it properly, the enterprises on the Chain should have appropriate information sharing and communication. Under the circumstances, SCM needs the support of Information Technology. Based on SCM theory, taking advantage of Information Technology, developing and utilizing SCM information system is an important aspect of business computerization of enterprises and meanwhile it is an efficient method of improving their competency. The research work in this thesis is focused on the SCM information system for the apparel industry.In this thesis are firstly introduced the general functions of SCM information system, and the characteristics of apparel industry are analyzed so as to point out the significance of design and utilization of SCM information system (Chapter 1). Then the design and realization work is organized with referring to the Rational Unified Process (RUP). Four RUP work flows are involved, Requirements Analysis (Chapter 2), Analysis&Design (Chapter 3), Implementation (Chapter 4) and Test (Chapter 4). The Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Rational Rose software are used for system modeling, use case model in Requirements Analysis phase, dynamic behavior model and static structure model in Analysis&Design phase and physical model in Implementation phase. In addition to the work mentioned above, in Analysis&Design phase, the database and structure of the system are designed. A system structure based on B/S mode and SSL VPN technology is suggested. In Implementation phase, Visual Studio .NET and SQL SERVER 2000 are used to realize a part of functions of the system. The ASP .NET technology is mainly used. In Test phase, the system testing and errors removing are conducted in order to make the system meet the previous requirements. In the end, a conclusion of the research work is made and the aspects of future research are pointed out (Chapter 5).The SCM Information System in this thesis is on the basis of information sharing and expressed by business handling. It is an appropriate tool for SCM execution. Compared to the traditional way of software developing, the UML diagrams used in the thesis make the requirements analysis and the system design more comprehensible; therefore, working efficiency is improved and project period is shortened.
