With the rapid development of video surveillance technology, wireless commu- nication technology and image processing technology, digital image acquisition technology has caught great interests and considerable development in recent years. It is widely applied in the fields of industrial production, research & science, medicine and sanitation, communication and so on. Due to some live situation of policemen, soldier and firemen needs to be transported, a novel and general method of video acquisition is proposed in this dissertation. An individual-soldier video acquisition system based on wireless transmission is introduced, it can transmit live scene to the back, let the management center analyze the live situation exactly. It has agreat significance in processing accidents of unusual circumstances timely.The dissertation analyzes the function of the system, illuminates the general design plan and design principles detailedly, discusses characters of current wireless communication technology and video compression technology, and also presents the overall structure block diagram of the system. About the structure arrangement, it includes hardware and software two mainline. In the aspect of hardware design, it includes video acquisition module, video processing module, wireless transmission module and Host receiving module. The system captures video by a CMOS image sensor OV9620, transfers the video signal to the image memory storage via the external CPLD Control Module, and then informs TMS320DM642 to do MPEG-4 encoding. At last, the compressed video data is transmitted on the wireless channel via the wireless modules. In the receiving end, a USB 2.0 transmission channel is estab- lished based on CY7C68013, it transmits the data that is received by the wirelss receiving module to the Host for decoding and display. The hardware design also includes the design plan of frame storage, power amplify and antenna. And a series of anti-jamming measures are presented. In the aspect of software design, the thought and process of modularized design are described which includes the design of the main program and subprogram of every part, the protocol of wireless communication is described , and the flow diagram are also given.The individual-soldier wireless video acquisition system has achieved digital acquisition, digital processing and digital transmission. It is charactered by simple in structure, design convenience, shorter develop- ment cycles and more versatility. The system's performance is good and its functions can be expanded easily to be applied in many wireless communication regions, such as the scene of accident, image burglar alarm, crossroads monitoring. It has a good practical significance.
