Design And Implementation Of Numerical Control Management System Based On DNC

In recent years, with the development of computer , network communication technology and numerical control technologies, as well as the increasing need for manufacturing automation, DNC (Distributed Numerical Control) technology has been was applied more and more widely. More and more enterprises have focused on to connecting the numerical control equipments in the workshops into the network for centralized management and improved productivity. DNC has increasing evolved from the single programmed transmission to the advanced manufacturing management philosophy , such as numerical control management, paperless manufacturing, etc.Nowadays many enterprises in China have adopted DNC to administrate the on-site numerical control equipments. However most of them only deployed the modules such as CNCs, servers, workstations, etc, which could not meet the requirements in terms of manufacturing and technical management. A more sophisticated system should include the following features as well: review process and version control for the CNC machining code, authority administration for the whole system, etc. Therefore, developing a DNC-based management system enable all the areas above to be under control through information technology to improve the management efficiency and reduce the management cost.On the basis of the insights of the existing DNC system of Qishuyan Locomotive Works, this paper introduces how to build the web-oriented DNC management system by applying the Java EE technology. Firstly, this paper provides the overview of Java EE technology and its common application frameworks, and analyzes the advantages of the frameworks. Then, it discusses the features that the new management system should include by analyzing the current status and issues of the present DNC system used by Qishuyan Locomotive Works. Finally, it introduces how to analyze, design and implement the numerical control management system by applying Java EE technology.The management system developed with the Java EE technology has met the expected goals in terms of design philosophy, system architecture, usability, system features and scalability. Therefore it solved the practical problems appeared in the technical management of enterprises. The whole system has been almost completed and put into pilot run. The users feel comfortable with the system so far. However, it still needs to be improved for the integration with the enterprise's current MIS system.
