Coal is a significant energy sources in our country. Coal industry is very special. There are lots of potential safety problems, which threaten workers'life. Therefore, the safe production in coal industry has been widely concerned. With the development of computer technology, network information technology, automation technology and the requirement of modern management in coal industry, it is the overall trend of the information development of the coal industry that implementing the remote monitor, browser, query and share of information among the coal mine safety-monitoring system. At the present time, because there is no uniform standard in communication protocol of surveillance systems in coal industry, these systems are almost irrelevant, independent, incompatible and unable to share information vastly, which formed insular information islands. As a result, the progress of the coal industrial informationization has been held back to a great extent.This paper analyzed the current situation and problems of information sharing, integration and isomerous data in various existing safety-monitoring systems. It has brought forward and designed the overall scheme of the isomerous data transformation and information integration of coal industry. It aims for the isomerous data transformation and the technological difficulty with data transmission, the technology of file exchange, ODBC, DDE and OPC are seriously researched and designed a coal mine safety-monitoring system based on OPC technology. This paper particularly analyzed the data access specification of OPC and its core technique—COM/DCOM technology. We focused on designing and realizing the OPC client component and server component. In this paper, a coal mine safety-monitoring system was designed and realized based on OPC technology. Finally, the paper described function modules of this system in detail. The coal mine safety-monitoring system based on OPC technology with good opening, advancement, expanding and easy operation has been designed and realized in my paper. Meanwhile, the system has been running steadily in the testing process, and used in practicality with good performance. It will play an important role and have importance meanings to promote and accelerate the informationization process of the coal industry in our country.
