Organic light emitting display (OLED) has been extensively studied as a new generation of flat panel display technology. Active OLED drive is the key to the high-resolution OLED technology development. Active-matrix driver can eliminate the effects of crosstalk from passive-driven and not be affected by the number of scanning electrodes.OLEDos (OLED on silicon), as an important branch of the active OLED, is a combined technology of organic light-emitting and silicon-based circuit technology. High-resolution OLEDos base on analog driver demands more complex technology of silicon chip. In this paper, the active pixels OLED drive circuit and the gray methods are introduced. A driver circuit design is proposed, which combines sub-field digital gray technology base on time ratio and the digital pixel circuit. On the part of chip, a two-MOS and a capacitor component of the pixels circuit compose the pixel matrix; the integrated circuit of scanning electrodes and column data-driven circuit are designed surrounding pixel matrix, which greatly reduces the external interfaces of screen and improves integration and reliability of the display. On the part outside the chip, the drive circuit chip based on DVI input, utilizes FPGA to design the driver control circuits and digital gray modulation circuit. Ping-pong structures are used in read and write operation, to reduce the frequency of the circuit. In addition, the unit layouts of circuit parts on chip are given, which lays a foundation for more in-depth study in the future.
