Distribution is one of the widely used sale methods adopted by many domestic wholesale enterprises and integrated manufacturing companies. A key factor in distribution management is how to effectively control the product flow, cash flow and business flow within the distribution network so that the entire system can function efficiently. As it is known to all, the high efficiency of distribution network actually relies on two facts: first, all of the above flows should center at information flow; second, the provided information must be accurate to support various decision making. For many companies, with the rapid growth in the sale scale, different information flows in real applications may often experience delay, loss or asymmetry issues, which lead to significant difficulties for these companies to control the remote product and cash flows. Unfortunately, due to the intrinsic limitations, traditional distribution management cannot effectively tackle above problems. As a result, it is very hard for these companies to reduce their cost and make the correct decision for manufacture and marketing. Moreover, such limitations could also induce significant waste in enterprise resources. Therefore, to effectively manage various information channels is a critical factor in distribution network, especially for those companies focused on fast consumer products.Based on a thorough analysis of current beer industry in China, this paper systematically discussed a suite of problems in the implementation of the distribution business as well as the distribution resource management system for beer manufactures. By analyzing the existing problems in distribution system and using the supply chain coordination method, we presented an efficient management model for beer distribution business. Furthermore, we proposed a complete framework with decision support function for distribution resource management in beer industry. We also combined the theory of data warehouse and the technique of web service to design and implement a prototype for data exchange. In summary, this paper possesses both theoretical and practical contribution in the implementation of distribution management system that supports distribution business over multiple regions.
