Mobile Ad hoc Network is a set of wireless mobile nodes which is self-organizing, dynamic topology. Comparing with other mobile network, Ad hoc network doesn't depend on existing fixed infrastructure; the nodes can communicate through other nodes when the two end-points are not directly within their radio range. In such a network, each mobile node acts not only as a host, but also as a router. Characteristics of Ad hoc network limit the use of existing routing protocol, special routing protocol need to be designed. In Ad hoc network the mobile node is notebook PC or some other mobile devices. Be restricted by the characteristic of these mobile nodes the network bandwidth and the node energy should be used appropriately. So the control of congestion and the effective use of energy should be considered in the protocol design in Ad hoc network. This dissertation analyzed the common routing protocol in mobile wireless Ad hoc networks, researched several major improve technique in load and energy balance, on this basis, a new routing protocol which balanced the load and energy in the network is raised. This technique divided the nodes into several different states from their load information and energy level. The nodes delay or drop the response of routing requests while the node is in a bad state, so the nodes which are in a better load and energy state will compose the routing chains. The congestion of the network will be restricted and the usage of energy will be balanced. Simulations results form NS-2 show that the Improved-AODV routing protocol compared with the original edition, improved both in the network congestion condition and the usage of the energy.
