Mobile Ad Hoc network is a dynamic topology, multiple hops self-organized network without center. These characters make it have unique advantages in some special applications. However it brings us many technical issues. Routing is one of the research hotspots for Mobile Ad Hoc networks.Focusing on the serious deficiency of network congestion and performance decrease caused by typical on demand routing protocol AODV, DSR etc without considering load-balance in Mobile Ad Hoc networks, this paper proposes a novel Optimized Bandwidth Awareness Multipath Routing (OBAMR). It mainly consists of i)QoS load awareness model of available bandwidth to avoid congestion; ii)adopt maximum disjoint multipath concurrently to improve throughput by distributing data packets adaptively; iii)based on DSR Acknowledgement mechanism and flush mechanism to update route cache , introduce RMU(Recently Most Use)policy to optimize route cache probing updating to keep paths fresh enough and reduce update overhead as well as route error.Based on OPNET platform, the proposed routing protocol OBAMR is evaluated in different simulation scenarios with different network load and mobile speed. And comparing with typical DSR and SMR, simulation results show OBAMR brings improved performance in heavy load network with low mobility—higher data delivery rate, lower end to end average delay ,control overhead and route error.
