With the application of Ad Hoc network and increasing demand to the QoS, manyproblems in Ad Hoc network stick out, such as inadequate utilization of wirelessspectrum, serious inter-flow interference and the load imbalance etc., which led to lowernetwork throughput and bad performance of the network. These issues have been ahotspot in wireless areas; many research institutes try to find some methods to improvethe performance of Ad hoc network. The current research situation of ad hoc network is surveyed first, and then therelated researches on load balance in Ad Hoc network are analyzed deeply. Accordingto AODV, improved load balance Ad hoc routing protocol to the single-channelsingle-interface network and the multi-channel multi-interface network are proposedrespectively. The ns2simulation software is extended with multi-interfacemulti-channel (MIMC) improvement to support related protocol. The proposedprotocols are realized in ns2. The simulation results and comparisons confirm thevalidity of the optimized load balance routing protocol. The contributions of this thesis are as followed:(1) An improved AODV routing protocol named LP-AODV is proposed to mendthe shortest path finding algorithm. It optimizes the routing metrics and the treatmentprocess of forward path and considers the load status of the nodes in the route selectionprocess. A mechanism of the destination node waiting is used. The best path selected inthe optimization is the one whose load is minimum. Compared to the original AODVprotocol, the performance improved.(2) An improved AOMDV routing protocol named MIMC-AOMDV is proposedfor that the traditional Ad Hoc network routing protocols cannot give full play to MIMCnetwork potential and present little routing algorithm achieve load balancing inmulti-channel multi-interface Ad Hoc network. It integrated channel interference, interface load and other factors to measure the path cost. We propose RREQ/RREPwaiting mechanism and data forwarding process based on the data stream. The best pathselected will be consolidated consider the interference, load, and hops. NS2is extendedfor supporting Multi-interface networks. Results showed that, compared with theoriginal AOMDV, the performance improved.
