CAPP(Computer Aided Process Planning) is the important part of Enterprise Information System., and virtual assembly ,craft resource management and web collaboration are the core components of CAPP. From the perspective of knowledge sharing, this dissertation studied the virtual assembly process planning and craft resource management and collaboration based on semantics. It proposed a semantic model of assembly process and researched on the key technology as follows: semantic information extraction from CAD system, intelligent dragger in virtual environment, 3-Dimensional model visualization on web and craft resource and access privilege management. The works completed can be summarized as follows:1.By analyzing current 3D-VAPP system, the dissertation proposed the architecture of CAPP system based on semantics: 3D-IVAPP and also discussed on the definition of assembly semantic and methods of constructing assembly semantics based on ontology.2. By gathering key concepts of assembly processes, in chapter 3, the dissertation proposed the formation of assembly ontology, described them in OWL and studied the information extraction from CAD systems and ontology instantiation.3. Through deep analysis on the process of assembly process planning, in chapter 4, the dissertation researched on 3-Dimensional model sharing and visualization on web, craft file access privilege management and statistics and user management.4. In chapter 6, the dissertation implemented the prototype of the 3D-IVAPP system, including information extraction module, intelligent dragger module based on open inventor and craft resource management module on web.
