Ad_hoc networks (MANET) are self-organizing networks that can be organized anywhere and at any time without the aid of any established infrastructure and centralized administration. Wireless ad_hoc networks are accessed from wireless. So it is called mobile ad_hoc network (MANET). MANET is highly flexible, easy to build and doesn't need any infrastructure network to support. MANET is optimistic about business prospects. It is can be predicted that MANET will play a very important role in the future market.MANET topology is changed frequently by the node's movement. The brandwidth and energy of these nodes is limited, so the traditional routing methods can not be applied to MANET. To solve these problems MANET's routing methods shoud based on on_demand. AODV is a kind of on_demand routing protocol. AODV routing process will be started to look for routing information only when the node start to communicate. And it is no need to maintenance issues at other time. But there is large difference between AODV as an on_demand routing protocol and the other routing protocols which are widely used in the internet. It causes some problems when the MANET connects to internet.It first outlines the features of MANET network, application and the current hot spots of study. Then introduce MANET network routing protocols-AODV principle of building and maintaining process. And based on this we achieve AODV routing protocol on linux platform, and achieve specific and verified, given the relevant test results. And we analyze the problem when a wireless self-organized network connects to the Internet, come up with a solution for the interconnection, based on which we did some experiment and draw some conclusion.
