Research On Web Usability Design And The Application In Library Web Site Construction

Web has been integrated into all aspects of the modern human life, but in the Web site usability, there are some issue which lead to ordinary users who are neither computer experts nor domain experts will not be able to correctly understand and use web. In order to increase usability of Web and design web site satisfied with user, Web designers must face "users with special needs", understand the true needs of user and design web solutions consistent with user behavior. The key is to "how research users" and "how meet user demand in existing Technical conditions".This thesis presents full understanding of web design connotation and reference design idea from other fields under the guidance in user-centered design. For how to study users, this thesis proposes to study the user's objectives, perspectives and behavior, and accordingly determines qualitative property and functional scope of web site. The thesis analyzes the specific methods and steps for creating personas and how to increase the credibility of personas. Aiming at how to study users and how to meet user demand in existing Technical conditions, the thesis puts forwards the following solution: using Cards Sorting and Clustering Analysis to construct information architecture, following the general principles of navigation design, optimizing Web interface, organizing content according to user mode, constructing reasonable search within web site, following Web achieving standards, as well as optimizating the structure and content of website for the mainstream search engine.Finally, the thesis introduces applying web usability design to the University Library web site building, describes the detailed process of Library web site usability design using usability design method given in thesis. through the before and after comparison usability evaluation results, validates the effectiveness of web usability design method given in thesis in enhancing web usability. This is some guidingsignificance to rapidly constructing the website with high usability.
