The Research On Farmer Users Oriented Software Interface Usability

As the time of information is coming, the Individual Forest Owner will become the most potential groups. As a specific user, individual forest owners have not been paid wide attention to people. The usability issues of individual forest owners oriented user interface have not been enough attention by designers. Development of user-centric and high-available interface systems needs in-depth study.This paper bases on the decision support system on silviculture and management of poplar fast-growing plantation, mainly solved the usability problem of individual forest owners oriented user interface. First, by the survey of basic information on individual forest owners, the data of individual forest owner characteristics is obtained. Then based on the usability theory about user interface, in FuShun city the collected individual forest owners did usability testing. During the testing, the study combinated observation, interviews and user software questionnaire survey, collected individual forest owners' assessment to the original interface usability issues, and analysed data. According to the results, the paper summarized individual forest owner characteristics, and established the mental model of individual forest owners, in the light of which the paper mades some recommendations about individual forest owners oriented user interface design. In the end, combined with the second usability testing data in Wen'an city, the paper proved the usability of improved interface indeed higher than the original interface.
