Workflow technology is the core technology which assists enterprise and organization processes to realize modeling, simulation analysis, optimization, management and integration, and ultimately automation. Aiming at research hotspot and development trend of workflow technology, we make some researches on three main aspects which include workflow modeling and its analysis and simulation. The workflow modeling can both give dual attention to good graph performance and strict formal description and support multiple perspectives and dynamic characteristic. This paper proposes a method which support multi-dimensional dynamic workflow modeling based on extended UML2.0_WF-net and its analysis and simulation. At the aspect of workflow modeling, first of all, we use the various diagram elements of UML2.0 for multi-dimensional workflow modeling which takes process as the core and resources, organization and so on for supplement. This paper mainly extends UML2.0 Activity Diagram with the characteristics of workflow, to establish workflow process model which can support description with multiple perspectives and dynamic characteristic, including exception handling, definition of initialize active region, objects, trigger mechanism, etc. Then, WF-net is extended with color, time, hierarchy and some new modeling symbols. Its formal definition and the rule of enabling and triggering are given. These works make its ability of description and analysis complex process enhanced and it provides the corresponding support to the model simulation. Finally, after explaining the mapping ideas and completing related preparatory work, we give the mapping method of extended UML2.0 Activity and extended WF-net. It has two steps: First step is mapping of the related structure; Second step is mapping of corresponding constraints and the control information and so on, in the position of mapping of related structure. Taking the workflow of deal with calls in E-government for example, we realize this workflow model with extended UML2.0 Activity Diagram. Then transform it into workflow model of extended WF-net through the mapping mechanism. In the process of workflow model analysis, we research the important theory of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. Specially, at the aspect of quantitative analysis, eight kinds of workflow patterns are proposed. Through it reasonable and meaningful combination, we obtain six kinds of basic workflow model which based on extended WF-net with good construction. We analyze the performance equivalence of them with related knowledge of Stochastic Petri Nets and queuing theory and propose the performance equivalence formulas. Using analysis method which gradually synthesizes the lamination form bottom to up, we can obtain performance parameter of system. This method can be used as a general method for workflow model quantitative analysis. At the aspect of workflow simulation, this paper proposes a simulation model based on the activity and gives its architecture. The simulation model can adjust scope of simulation and support simulation of queue system. We take the extended WF-net workflow model of deal with calls in E-government for example, to simulate and analyze it using the simulation model this paper proposed. We use platform of ExSpect to realize the simulation model of the activity of registration calls. Running the simulation process, we gained some data such as average registration time of calls and may assess its service ability. We reset the environment of simulation to simulate the different situation, searching for the best case of performance. For example, if adding one telephone simulate again, we can see service ability of the activity of registration calls has enhanced, by comparing simulation data.
