Direct Digital Frequency Synthesis(DDS)has changed the design method of digital electronical system and provided a new design way. With the appearance of Field Programmable Gates Array(FPGA)and the development of digital integrated circuits and microelectronic techniques, Direct Digital frequency Synthesis(DDS)exhibits its superiorities day by day. It has been more recognized as the best method to divide frequency, generate sine wave and other complex waves, and it has been used widely in electronic system. The dissertation is based on the necessity of the research of setting up and maintaining JATC, and also makes the best use of DDS to design the divide frequency of hydrogen maser. The purpose of system is to divide the signal(5MHz,10MHz & 100MHz)of hydrogen maser to 1PPS. In order to satisfy the data compared and measured, we also utilize DDS to generate the random waves. The dissertation introduces the course and compares the characteristics of different frequency synthesis techniques, and the major work of the dissertation is as follow:First, the classification, the principles, the structure, and the characteristic of DDS are mainly introduced, and then the advantages and disadvantages are also analyzed.Second, the dissertation introduces the theory of FPGA and design flow of FPGA .Then the article expatiates on the method of how to produce kinds of signal, especislly on the step of frequency synthesis. At last, this dissertation focuses on the design course of the divided frequency of hydrogen maser based on the FPGA, and the function of generating waves which include sine wave, triangle wave, sawtooth wave and divided frequency at discretion is to be simulated by Modelsim tool, the result achieve the original goal.
