Research On SIP Protocol Performance Analysis And Test

The SIP has been established as the signaling protocol of the IMS in 3G by 3GPP, and it will gradually become a core signaling control protocol of the NGN. As a protocol of the NGN, SIP can satisfy the requirement of the VoIP and the multimedia communication.,so many communication corporations have produced SIP-based servers and terminals.Then how to connect these SIP-based products from different corporations,and how to evaluate their performance becomes an emergent problem, and now there isn't any mature SIP protocol testing tool.Thus,it's of great practical significance and researchful to have a research on the SIP protocol testing and its testing method.The thesis discusses the SIP protocol testing analysis method,including Conformance Testing,Interoperability Testing,Performance Testing and so on, and it puts emphasis upon the performance testing analysis method,have a deep research on its testing schemes, putting forward the method to construct a testing schemes,that is to simulate the SIP call flow through testing scenario templet written in XML.On this basis, the thesis improves the error handling module and the mechanism of internal message processing,redesigns the SIP Protocol Stack and improves the media interface mapping module,all the above makes it a more scientific and more effective testing tool, which can also simulate the implementation of 3pcc,make performance evaluation on SIP systems using 3pcc function, as above it's of practical significance to have this research.The SIP testing tool can call the tested SIP system many times one second and reflects its performance by making statistic of the processed status. It can also reflect different aspects of tested system's performance by adjusting the rate and the flow of the calls.The thesis uses object-oriented method to design this testing tool making its every module have clear functionalities and a fine architecture.The performance of the testing tool itself is also carefully considered during the designing. During the programming phase, some new techniques and standards are used to maintain advanced.In the last section, the SIP performance testing tool is used to give a comprehensive test to SIP servers. In conclusion, through the gained testing data and the used testing method, good results can be gained in the SIP system testing by using this SIP Testing tool. The future direction of SIP testing tools is also pointed out at the end of the thesis.
