T′ieh-ch′in t′ung-chien-lou of The Surname Qu is celebrated as one of the four most famous private collections of the the Modern period.It is the most typical representative of the famous private collections. It was began to collect books from the period of Qianlong emperor and pxperience five dynasties about more than 150 years. The collection of The Surname Qu was saved through many difficults and was keeped in Beijing liberary.This paper has discussed the connection between the collections of The Surname Qu and society cultury in Jiangnan area in the view of social cultural history.
