Decision Support System (DSS) is a computer system that helps senior management staff make decisions. It comprehensively uses the theory, methods and techniques of information theory, artificial intelligence, information economics, management science, behavioral science and so on, according to their own actual situations. With the concept promoted and mature technology of On-line Analytical Mining (OLAM), OLAM becomes one of the main analytical tools in a new decision support system, which bases on Data Warehouse (DW). It is not only seamless to integrate the technologies of On-line Analytical Process (OLAP) and Data Mining (DM), but also it has both advantages respectively. So it is valuable for study and application.This thesis described the designs for inventory decision support system data warehouse based on OLAM, and focused on the use in a variety of SQL Server 2005 technology's advantages of seamless integration, and then made the entire system of concrete structures, design and implementation. This thesis included:(1)Described the state-of-the-art of On-line Analytical Mining technology, and brought forward the ideas that using On-line Analytical Mining technology for supporting decision-making of inventory data warehouse,(2)Designed the whole inventory decision support system, including the need analysis from the inventory decision support system, and the design of the system and the functionality of inventory decision support system basing on the technology of OLAM.(3)According to the specific inventory database, established the warehouse using the design of conceptual model, logical model and physical model, and then did the research of the key technologies of the data warehouse.(4)Firstly, established the development environment of the inventory decision support system, and established the corresponding OLAP multi-dimensional data sets with the inventory data warehouse for setting dimensions, levels and measures; Secondly provided the interfaces using Visual Basic.net programming language on Web Service platform, and established ASP.net Web services in order to call Web Service interfaces and Office Web Component, while called Web services through JavaScript to provide the perspective of multi-dimensional data cube; Thirdly designed the mining structure and mining model using the data sets of inventory while adopting clustering mining algorithm for analysis in order to support decision-making, finally published the data report on web.The base of inventory data warehouse was designed in this thesis, and then realized the OLAM functionality of inventory decision support system. This system can provide the queries of multi-dimensional data cube and also obtain the mining analysis though the mining algorithm for supporting decision-making.
