Full Data exchange is the exchange of different types of data formats and various types of communication protocols. In our group, the coexisting standard and non-standard data structure in current medical applications are taken into account and a web-service based medical full data platform is designed. In this platform, XML documents are used as a data carrier and HL7 CDA as the standard format for data exchange. The whole system can mainly be divided into two parts. The first part is an application interface, in which various data types are transformed into standard CDA documents and sent out, while CDA documents from other systems are accepted and parsed. The second part is a data exchange center, which manages the interfaces, stores and manages data, supports data exchange between applications. This paper focus on the first part, i.e., the application interface.Based on in-depth study of HL7 standard, CDA structure, XML technology and Web Service architecture, this paper combines the merits of B/S and C/S architecture and designs a medical full data exchange interface based on Web Service architecture. Using web-service architecture, interfaces can break through the firewall to communicate and exchange data easily. Interfaces use the SOAP protocol to communicate, encrypt the important parameters of the SOAP message, and use key to verify data, so that data security is ensured. There are two data exchange models in the design of this interface: point-to-point model and exchange center transmitting model. By choosing an appropriate model, data exchange between applications is faster and more flexible. Moreover, the paper introduces a new method which uses CDA template file to encapsulate and parse data. This method allows users to customize CDA templates, so that various types of non-standard data can be transformed into standards CDA documents by defining corresponding CDA templates.
