"Virtual Reality" (Virtual Reality) is a computer simulation of the real world. From their perspective, Users can use the skills of this nature and some of equipment with the virtual world objects for browsing and interactive control. As virtual reality technology in the concrete application of the medical treatment process, Virtual surgery is a new interdisciplinary research field, involving medical, computer graphics, Biomechanics, mechanical dynamics, materials science and other disciplines.Many virtual surgery system can be divided into modules, such as geometric modeling, calculation modeling, collision detection, cutting simulation,etc.Geometric modeling is the basis for other modules, how realistic modeling of surgical instruments, and enable the model to have the good interactive controllability, is a very important issue. Many excellent 3D graphics software, such as 3DS MAX and AUTOCAD, can be set up to facilitate visual object model, but it is difficult to control their interactive. In this paper we adopt a practical approach to 3D modeling and simulation, using a combination of 3DS MAX software and OpenGL programming.Through the integrated use of 3DS MAX software Geometric Modeling, We carry on the three dimensional modelling to the surgery instrument to produce the 3Ds form document in this article. On the basis of analyzed of the Application of 3Ds and mastered the format of structural features, take VC++.NET as the tool, we develop the corresponding interface to read into the model data with the object-oriented method. According to the triangle mesh information and material information which readed in, we use OpenGL basic primitive to achieve the re-drawing model in the application of the procedures.In instrument model visible control stage, using visual window interface and the combination of input and output functions of VC++.NET and OpenGL function, We have constructed the instrument pool toolbox. Users can select the view window to map out different instrument models. Through increases the control panel in the procedure, users realized to the instrument model translation, rotation, zooming, and other motion control. Users can also set up model mapping mode, light, etc. Therefore, we have achieved the instrument model interactive in control stage.The article finally summarized personally realizations and gains in the project, and proposed the forecast on the next step of improvement.
