The technology of virtual-surgery is the integration of modern medicine, computer graphics and virtual reality technology as a multidisciplinary research area which play a more important role in the field of programming and treatment of surgery, the practice of surgery. navigation and wardship during the surgery time. As the diversity and physical properties of human tissues, and the high demand of virtual surgery on the realistic and immersive, the key technologies of modeling and simulation in virtual surgery have been the difficult and hot spots in this field.Three key technologies of modeling and simulation in virtual surgery:three-dimensional modeling, collision detection and cutting simulation were studied in this paper. Firstly three-dimensional modeling could be carried out from geometric modeling, physical modeling, and computational modeling three steps, several typical models of each modeling methods were respectively discussed and analyzed. Collision detection is the important factors of realistic and the immersion in virtual surgery system, the main method of collision detection is space decomposition and hierarchical bounding box. Virtual cutting was carried out based on three-dimensional modeling and collision detection, the main methods was removal method and split method.Human stomach tissue, kidney tissue and arm are three-dimensional modeled by 3DS Max software based on the real human tissues,.And the linear elastic model of these three models is analyzed by finite element method then the calculation model is given. Also the deformation results are given after making the stomach model, kidney model, the arm model in tension and compression processing respectively. Secondly, theÎș-Dops bounding box tree of the geometric model of the stomach, kidney, and arm are structured. The basic elements of the intersection test in different geometric collision case are analyzed. And the collision detection with virtual scalpel is realized. Also the update condition is analyzed after bounding box tree model deforming. Finally, the deformation and fragmentation of basic geometric element is analyzed when three-dimensional models collided with the virtual scalpel in different case and different cutting depth. Also the cutting simulation results with the virtual scalpel on the stomach, kidney and arm model is given.
