This dissertation has mostly studied the technology of three-dimensional modeling and human-computer interaction in neurosurgery virtual surgery system. It is an important application of virtual reality technology and graphics-image processing in neurosurgery. It is related to the subjects of virtual reality, computer graphics, image processing and neurosurgery surgery. Neurosurgery surgery, especially for the head, is complicated, full of nerve tissue and having small space to operate. Any damnification will bring serious syndrome even death. The neurosurgery virtual surgery system can provide ideal effection of surgery simulation and teaching environment. It will enormously improve clinic, surgery planning and surgery success rate. Therefore, study on neurosurgery virtual surgery system has important significance on science and worthiness in practical application.This dissertation has studied several key technologies of neurosurgery virtual surgery system. First, three-dimensional models for neurosurgery virtual surgery system has been build: virtual head model, virtual operating room model and virtual hand model. The virtual head model has been build by using volume rendering three-dimensional reconstruct algorithm in VTK, and can factually represent the structure of head. The virtual operating room model, build by 3DS MAX, has good sense of deepness and space. The virtual hand model based on OpenGL has been build with sufficiently considering the request of interaction, as well as physiological and physical character of hand, and can meet basic need of neurosurgery virtual surgery system. And main current three-dimensional modeling technologies have been studied in this dissertation when building the virtual hand model. Some experiments have been taken to build virtual hand model by using these technologies. And a new modeling thought for virtual surgery has been presented by analyzing advantages, disadvantages and applicable situations of these technologies.Then, a new determining rule of grasping has been presented, which was designed to solve the problem of current rule in virtual surgery. This rule can make grasping more harmoniously, truly and naturally. It has also considered the request of real-time in human-computer interaction in order to meet the need of virtual surgery system. In addition, common process of virtual grasping has been analyzed and a new grasping algorithm has been presented.Collision detection is an important issue in virtual reality. Exact collision detection is very important to improve the authenticity and immersion. Some collision detection algorithms have been studied in this dissertation. And a new algorithm applicable to this system has been presented by combining with current mature collision detection library ColDet. Finally, some basic virtual interaction operations have been realized based on the results all of above.
