A Study On Ontology Building And Application In Test Questions Resources Retrieval

At present the rapid development of Web provides a large number of information resources for searching and gaining, but the users used to get into the plight of information overload, while they want to find the information which they need. On the one hand it is because the search tools can not search the existed information which is valuable for us; on the other hand, it is also the most basic reason that it can not refined the relevant information from knowledge. So it becomes an important and exigent research topic of how to managing and using the massive information.Ontology is a concept of modeling tools which can describe information system in the level of semantic and knowledge. It uses the accepted terminology (concept) and the relationship between them to reflect the knowledge and the knowledge structure in this field, so it can achieve the classification of knowledge and support the logic inference. These two characteristics of ontology have provided a kind of good solution for effective developing, managing and using massive and lax information resource. The classification of knowledge of ontology can better express and organize information. It can gain concealed knowledge in the information by knowledge reasoning, and achieve the concept searching for the information and knowledge.According to the characteristics of knowledge classification and reasoning, ontology is applicated in educational field, it can organizes and describes a part of important educational resources. Through building ontology for the test question resources, a suitable mechanism can be choosed to achieve concept searching for the test questions.The main reserach of the dissertation includes:1. This paper has analysed the ontology research background and the domestic and foreign research present situation; then introduced the concept of ontology and related theoretical knowledge briefly; focus on the practical application of ontology before construction, searching and preparation for knowledge reasoning.2. This paper has built an ontology for the test question resources of the DataStucture course, the building process includes: There is a scientific criterion and method to guide the ontology building; At the same time, a fine ontology editing tools-Protégéhas been choosed for supporting development, then, for the sake of helping machine understanding and reasoning, ontology description language OWL has been used to describe target ontology, it is also the foundation of further application.3. This paper has provided a simple searching for classes and instances in ontology. Test questions resources has became knowledge base by adding instances to it, then it has achieved searching for restricted classes and instances contained by relevant class.4. This paper has designed a searching model of test questions resources. It includes the design for the system framework and primary module; ontology model is parsed,searched and inferred by Jena in order to achieve a certain extent of concept searching.Finally the paper summarized the prime task, specified the direction of future research, such as evaluation methods of domain ontology building, ontology mapping and how to add the reasoning rules to ontology.
