Laser scanning projection display technology is depended on the excellent directionality of collimated laser beam and employs scanners to reflect the beam to the specific positions, and form the full image on the screen due to persistence of vision. This technology provides expanded color space, increased efficiency and longevity of service. System of laser scanning projection display can be integrated as ultra-compact module. And this module can be used in mobile terminal such as cell phone and PDA. In addition, it is because collimated laser beam is free of focusing problem that output image can be projected to curve surface. This makes it possible that laser scanning projection display can expand its applications to some special field. Consequently, laser scanning projection display and its expanded application have important significance and market value.In the first part of this thesis, applications of laser in projection display field are generalized, and new advances of laser scanning projection display field and its key components are summarized, then the application range of this technology in both vector scanning mode and raster scanning mode are introduced.In the second part, from the angle of image quality, discussions of some Influence factors are carried out. According to some key problems, such as geometric distortion of image, and some kinds of nonuniformity problem, quantitative analyses are carried out, and preliminary solutions are put forward.In the third part, experimental studies of laser scanning projection display are carried out. Technical parameters of existing scanning device are tested. Experimental platforms of vector scanning mode and raster scanning mode are built respectively, including both hardware and software. Experiments are carried out on the platforms which are prepared, and the experiment results are analyzed and discussed.In the fourth part, advantages and the prospect of applications of laser scanning projection display in the domain of medical assistant display are expounded. And a kind of subcutaneous vein display instrument based on dual wavelength laser scanning was designed. Related researches both on theory and experiment are carried out, and part of key problems encountered in the process of system realization, and primary experiment results were obtained. These provided an example of applications of laser scanning projection display in the domain of medical assistant display.Finally, the main conclusions are gathered up, and the further work also prospected.
