In order to reduce the development cycle and costs, effectively control the scale of simulation software and make full use of simulation resources, the resources reuse technology in simulation process is widely studied in the world.This dissertation took the virtual labor simulation as the demonstration example, focused on studying the management and reuse technology of 3D models and meta-animations in virtual simulation. Specific research works are as follows:We defined the basic concepts of simulation model and meta-animation and divided the simulation models into three levels according to the granularity of models. I.e. atomic model layer, application model layer and system model layer. Based on these factors, we proposed object-oriented description method based on meta-model for model and object-oriented description method for meta-animation. All of them laid a foundation for management and reuse of simulation models and meta-animations.Then we studied the management technology of resources base: management for model, meta-animation and the interface of resources base, as well as combination of models and meta-animations. And we put forward the detailed methods and rules for resources management. The management of model and meta-animation was divided into two parts. The first is crust, i.e. human-computer interaction. The second is kernel, i.e. specific operation for model and meta-animation in resources base. The interface to each module in resources base was realized through control bus and data transmission bus. The relationship i.e. the vertical, the horizontal, as well as the relationship between them of models is the foundation for models to combine. The combination of meta-animations should follow several rules: order, limitations, denseness, rationality and so on. On the basis of these research, we got the specific operation methods for model and meta-animation's management and reuse: analyzed the function requirements of resource base, designed the overall functional structure of resources base, the management module of resources base, the dictionary of model and meta-animation, fixed on the storage structure of resources base and established the data table structure as well as the relationship between them.Finally, we developed a virtual labor simulation system for training and education based on resources reuse technology. First of all, we introduced the development environment and VR development platform of this system. Then, we built on the virtual models of pregnant woman body and its various organs and the meta-animations of virtual labor simulation, designed the resources base of virtual labor simulation system, integrated the Access database and EON Studio 3D rendering engine by programming using Visual C++6.0, and completed the development of this system. Finally, the virtual labor simulation based on resources reuse technology was realized. It not only embodied the reusability of resources in virtual labor simulation but also verified the effective and feasibility of resources reuse technology in virtual simulation which studied by this dissertation.
