Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an advanced form of Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC). The advantage of RFID is that it can read data without physical contact. The AIDC of data completes the work of gathering original data. As a technology of AIDC, RFID solves the problems of low speed, high rate of error code, hard and repetitive works that exists in manual data entry, and it also provides an efficient means for computerizing in quick and accurate data entry.Following China's accession to the WTO, foreign enterprises gradually entering China transportation market, rail transportation is brought about development opportunities and competitive pressures. Therefore China railway must accelerate to confront the challenge. So, the strategic shift of China railway from transportation services to the logistics services is an inevitable choice for development by leaps and bounds. Providing comprehensive logistics information services has become a vital freight operations of the core elements of competition, and cargo tracking customer enquiries information is one of the most needed information. Nowadays, the most important rail transportation is rail container transportation. So in this paper, we will deeply discuss the scheme for the inquires of the rail container transportation. However, China railway just only realizes the large nodes track of freight vehicle. There is some distance to query the track of container. The exiting Railway Container Inquiry System can be used only by some Railway departments, and it can not provide information about the container in time.Based on the lucubration of the process of railway freight transportation, the thesis adopts RFID technique and discusses the feasible schemes for the inquires of container track. In this paper, we design and implement a Rail Container Inquiry System which can be used by all customers, and it solves the problems in exiting Inquiry System.This System emphasizes the new characteristics after introducing the RFID into the Inquiry System. Certainly, it can also complete the conventional functions of inquiring containers, goods and customers information; Second, my paper brings forward the application project that is based upon the Web ,which makes the application of system agiler and realizes the needs that customers want to inquiry their goods in any time and place, and solves the exiting problem brought by exiting system which is structured by Client/Servant; Third, in this system, we differentiate all customers into some grades, and that can provide different customer the different service, meanwhile it also can provide the railway's benefits; Fourth, this system also provide a Emergency function, this function is used as an information exchanging system between railway and customers when some emergencies happen such as south heavy snow disaster in 2008. Using this function, railway and customer can keep information close and discuss the transportation scheme in time to lighten the loss.
