The Mass, birthing in the March 25, 1940. It was a popular newspaper led by the Communist Party of China, its readers were the masses and grassroots cadres at the basic level of Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region. And The Mass also was a very important constituent of Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Journalism.During the 13 years of running the newspaper, The Mass had experienced the Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War. The staff members of The Mass led by Zhou Wen whom had paid very hard working in very bad living environments to ensure the newspapers published regularly .As the Central Committee Northwest Bureau of the CPC Central Committee's official newspaper. The information was transmitted immediately by The Mass .And it also released the principles and policies positively, and concerned the production and life of the mass in a war time. It had played a positive and good role in the various constructions of the border region's promoting.Popularization was the most important characteristic of The Mass. It had established a popularize communication process in order to meet the needs of the mass and grassroots, From the content to the external form, from the information source to the channel, it have had the big character of popularization .The history of running newspapers had proved the news reports in The Mass that concerned the masses very much, and made a strong effect of publicity and the social impact. The experience of running newspapers not only was a very important form but also was a use as a source of reference to the modern newspapers.
