Study And Application Of Serial Communication And Ethernet Protocol Based On ARM Processor

In recent years, with the popularity and the development of Ethernet technology, the open Internet technology with TCP/IP protocol as representative has gotten extensive application in every field. Both in business organization and non-business organization, adopted Internet equipment in large quantities, but in many occasions, plenty of traditional equipments with RS-232 asynchronous serial interfaces are still in use extensively. In many applications, the serial data of these equipments need to be transmitted through network, thus it is necessary to seek a new kind of method to solve the interconnection problem between these tradition equipments and the current network equipments.This paper studies and analyses respectively for serial communication and the Ethernet based on TCP/IP protocol, on this foundation, design an embedded system which called the protocol conversion system between Ethernet and the serial communication based on ARM processor; to implement data communication between multi-serial port and net port.This Article first analyses the development of Ethernet technology and the present application of serial communication. Through comparing the advantages and disadvantages of these two kinds of connected networks, it point out the tendency of equipments with serial ports to connect to the network. Then, design in general for system and partition it into different functional modules, and then, introduces the internal structure and the characteristic of embedded processor LPC2210 in details, as well as the interface design of Ethernet chip RTL8019AS. In the aspect of software design, it also discusses the boot of the system, serial communication protocol and the driver, TCP/IP protocol, μC/OS-Ⅱ transplant and so on. Finally, completes the test and analyses for the data.
