The Comparative Study On Communication Patterns Of Party Newspaper And Metropolitan Newspaper In Shanghai

The dissertation selects Shanghai party newspaper and metropolitan newspaper as research subjects, chooses the headline news of four main shanghai newspapers' front pages for text analysis, and adopts qualitative and quantitative research methods, combines content analysis with discourse analysis, in order to research topic buildings, standpoint and perspectives and text patterns of various newspapers. Makes the comparative study on the communication patterns of Shanghai party newspaper and metropolitan newspaper, compares horizontally between two types of newspaper media, and discusses the specific differences between the party newspapers and metropolitan dailies in discourse paradigm and text pattern. On the basis of the text analysis findings, finds out different value orientations and judgment positions of various media.By the study on the newspaper content analysis, bases on empirical analysis to research different types of newspapers' characteristics, and compares different communication patterns of the party newspapers and the metropolitan newspapers. On the basis of quantitative data, the paper constructs communication characteristics of different media, and then makes the horizontal contrast between different media, and discusses the reasons for difference by combining the factors of media orientation, audience groups and media roles, thinks about the realistic significance and necessity of the existence of different communication patterns nowadays. The dissertation emphasizes that the party newspaper media should not completely marketization. The party newspaper reform should persist in its nature and characteristics, and should not substitute the metropolitan newspaper's communication pattern for the other one's. The party newspaper reform should adhere to its fundamental attributes and respect its characteristics and orientation, thereby ensures the diversity of China newspaper market and avoids homogenization of media. Different types of newspapers can exist and develop simultaneously and harmoniously. The paper discusses in depth China newspaper media's development direction and prospect, especially the party newspaper, in order to provide reference and suggestion for newspaper development and reform. And considers that how the mass media realize their functions and roles in the process of society transition, and deems that there should be complementarities between different types of newspapers, and the construction of media pictures and reflection and reproduction of different social realities should base on the specific media orientation, so as to exert the mass media's significance and value in the process of building the harmonious society.
