Abstract/Summary:
Based on the forcesensitivity characteristic of overtone crystal oscillator, this paperpresents anewmethodusingforcetoimprovethetemperature-frequencycharacteristicsof crystal. The frequency of the resonator changes according to the temperature andthestress applied on it. The technique introduced in the paper combining force-frequencyand temperature-frequency characteristics of crystal, recur to the thermal stress ofmetallic electrode making these two characteristics work on each other to get thetemperature compensated effect of overtone crystal oscillator. The theory foundationand realization ofthe compensation are given in detail, andthe basis how to choose theinterrelated parameters during the whole realization processing with this new methodare offered by experiments. Just fundamental frequency crystals are compensated intraditional TCXO with analog method through controlling voltage, so the scope ofcrystal oscillator is limited. This new type temperature compensation crystal oscillatornot only can obviously widen the scope of chosen crystal, get highfrequency-temperature stability, but also can use AT-cut and SC-cut overtone ones. Sowe can span the scope to choose crystal. This new high stability crystal oscillator willcan obviouslyimprove the performances of traditional temperature compensated crystalinvolume, costandpower, socangetwidespace.
