Night vision equipment is a military equipment using photo-electric conversionTechnique. It play an important role in army's campaign ability both in day and night.The low light Night Vision Equipment's core part is the low-light-level(LLL) imageintensifier(I2) which's performance mainly decide Night Vision Equipment'sperformance. Soafterthepaperintroducetheworkingtheoryofnightvisionequipment,it introduce the work principle of LLL I2 vitally and how to improve it's technologyespeciallyonpowersystem.Firstly, the work principle and some important parameters of three main parts ofGenerationⅡI2 include a photo cathode, a microchannel plate (MCP) and a screen areintroduced. And the relation between fatigue and input luminance is analyzed in theory.The automatic brightness control(ABC) of it's power systemis use input luminance tocontrol the working process of GenerationⅡI2. And the dynamic range is so narrowand lifetime of GenerationⅡI2 is not so long are leaded by the(ABC) system usingadjusting work voltage to control it's working. The main goal in the paper is to useautogatedpowertechnologyto overcomethesedefects.The paper introduces the principle and characteristicses of the autogated powersupply, analyzes the superiority, feasibility and the advertent problem of autogatedpower supply applied in I2,and puts forward the design parameter. At the same time itintroduce how to use some power ICs to design theautogatedpower circuit. The circuitincludebust-upcircuitpulsewidthmodulatecircuitthe supresscircuitandsoon.
