This paper stands on traditional classic calculation theory and modern electromagnetic simulation software,and systematically studies the property and the design method of wave-guide slot array antenna, especially for the narrow wall wave-guide slot array.According to the antenna technical specification, including gain, main lobe width, side lobe level, etc, the aperture's distribution can be decided, and the space between each slot is decided by the input VSWR within the working bandwidth and wave-packet direction. The focus and the main difficulties of narrow wall wave-guide slot array is How to design the physical size gap to achieve our selected aperture distribution.Utilizing traditional classic calculation theory and with the function of scanning optimization of Ansoft HFSS electromagnetic computing software, the apertures'size can be synthesized according to simulations. A complete simulation model can be established in Ansoft HFSS software to be simulated. By simulation and optimizing, the outcome shows good. At the same time a design process to this kind of antenna is provided, and some convenience is brought to the designers.
