With the development of digital image and digital signal processing technology, the full-digital cinema shooting way will take the place of traditional cinema shooting way one day. At present, although the technique on digital acquisition and post production has been well developed, there are many improvements which still need to be made on the field of on-site cinema recorder. In order to store the high bandwidth video stream from the digital cinematography camera in a lossless or non compression way, recorders with large capacity and high bandwidth are badly needed. However, at present the most popular recorders are based on hard disk, which is heavy, of no shock resistance and flexibility.This paper is to design a portable digital cinema recorder based on NAND Flash. The recorder uses 12V power supply and supports one dual link high definition serial digital input channel and one output channel. Users can create, replay or delete as much as 10 files and format the system with the guidance of file operation menus provided by the LCD screen. The recorder is portable, dockable and can be easily mounted on the back of a camera to record the high definition digital cinema stream in a non compression way.This paper presents a system platform design of the digital cinema recorder without any external references. Parallelism and polling structure, simplified file management system, bad block management mechanism and 64 NAND Flashes with large capacity are used to solve the problem of super high bandwidth video stream record, multiple file operation, bad blocks in NAND Flash and the record time length.In this project, I am mainly responsible for the system design and the FPGA implementation of storage module and control module as well as the debug of the card. Now the card has successfully finished the functional test. The test results show that the design itself and the implementation of the design are both correct and feasible and reach the requirements of the product. It is of the similar performance with Venom-the first solid-state recorder made by Thomson Company in the world.
