Textile simulation technology is mainly about computer animation for vision effect and static or dynamic attributes of flexible fabric fashion. 2D textile has been simulated and displayed for many decades and 2D garments CAD is mature. Now 3D garment modeling, dynamic simulation and interactive designing of virtual garment become the hot spot. Simulation of the textile is the basis of 3D garment modeling. The diversity of material, complexity of structure and irregularity of shap make the modeling and dynamic simulation difficult. Thus the technology of 3D textile dynamic simulation is still on research stage.This paper reseachs 3D textile dynamic simulation based on physic modeling of distorted textile, kinetics analysis, non-physic modeling to achieve good vision effect and simulation of distorted texture of textile during dynamic process.After analyzing the different methods of modeling and the physic performance of textile, the mass-spring model proved easy for modeling, realization and parameter setting. But it's simple and incomplete expressions of material make it difficult to show the characteristic of material. This paper adopts the inproved mass-spring model. The property of flexible textile is considered. Different coefficients of elasticity are used for structural spring, shearing spring and flexion spring. The effect of outside force is also added. All the improvements make the simulation more actual.The physic equations are commonly used in textile dynamic simulation. But it takes a lot of time for computer to calculate, so it can not meet the real-time requirment. This paper tried to use the non-physic model. The 1/f noise and Perlin noise are taken as the basic equations when wind noise theory is applied in 3D textile dynamic simulation. With an efficient algorithm instead of iteration, the process has a fast speed and can simulate textile dynamics in real time.Research on simulating the texture is also important for making the textile simulation has real appearance. The pattern on textile is changed with the shape of textile during the dynamic process. Based on the theory of texture mapping and the technology of antialiasing, this paper realizes the application of texture mapping in 3D textile dynamic simulation.This paper researchs 3D textile dynamic simulation systematically. It gives the theory foundation for the dynamic display of 3D garment. It is also helpful for the application of computer graphics, noise theory and kinetics modeling in textile simulation. The work lays the foundation for further development of 3D garment CAD, 3D virtual fitting system and character animation.
