In recent years, seamless knitting industry developed rapidly in the world, as the market changes, companies hope to find a way to quickly design new seamless knitting products to meet the market needs.In the traditional craft,the textile design needs to weave and revises parameter many times,and then it may begin the official production. It would spend massive time and manpower and take a long design cycles and can not meet the market demand immediately. In order to design new products faster and go into production as soon as possible and allow designers to observe the design effect directly,the research about designing and showing virtual effect of products has very good practical value and practical significance.The present paper takes project "Intelligence Design and Virtual Machining for Seamless Knitted Product" as the background, and focus on the algorithm for regional texture mapping,finally make the result of research applied to fabric simulation demonstration system.The tasks involved in this paper mainly includes:1.We focus on the study of the regional texture mapping method.To aim at the non-parameter characteristics of 3d mesh structure of clothing model,we propose a algorithm for regional texture mapping based region growing basing on the analyses of the previous research findings.In the algorithms,an intermediary surface which contains a user specified central point is located,and all its adjacent triangular faces are projected onto it.Around the central point, all triangular faces and their neighbors within a specified bound are added to the region one by one. The method effectively control the region of texture mapping to ensure the region area texture mapping.2.A method of triangular division was proposed based on regional growing texture mapping.During the texture mapping,there are three possible case that the triangular faces across specified bound.We divied those triangular faces into smaller ones by triangulation to ensure the region area texture mapping.3.We study the interaction of the operation to bring the convenience to users.We allow the users to operate on the 3d models and the changes will be reflected on the models in real-time.4. We make the result of research applied to fabric simulation demonstration system which includes the import of the model,texture mapping,rotating interactive display and son on.In the regional texture mapping,the system provides a powerful interactive operations to the users to get real-time effects which greatly improve the design efficiency.This system has a strong practical value.
